About the Geneva Engage Award

NEW: Geneva's digital footprint

This year, we will take the Geneva Engage Awards a step further than in previous years. We will examine Geneva’s global footprint by looking at Geneva’s web relevance through a search engine optimisation (SEO) analysis.

Are you interested in finding out how visible International Geneva actors and organisations are according to Google search results?

Visit our dedicated page and suggest keywords we should include in our analysis! We will share the results on 1 February 2022.

The annual Geneva Engage Awards recognise International Geneva actors in their social media outreach, online engagement and efforts towards more inclusive online meetings.

Ultimately, Geneva Engage examines the links between International Geneva and communities from around the world that are affected by the policies discussed and negotiated in Geneva in areas such as development, human rights, and digital issues.

The three categories of the Geneva Engage Awards are:

  • International Organisations
  • Permanent Representations to the UN in Geneva
  • Non-Governmental Organisations and Associations

The 2022 Geneva Engage award for Non-Governmental Organisations and Associations will be dedicated to the memory of internet pioneer Ian Peter (1948–2021). This is particularly relevant and important in recognition of Ian’s lifelong commitment to civil society engagement in use of the internet for communication in support of marginalised and vulnerable groups. For more information about Ian, see:
